National Women’s Enterprise Day

Monaghan's Leading Light - Charlene Casey

Monaghan’s Leading Light – Charlene Casey

Here’s a great national and free online event which you may want to sign up for on Thursday 7th October.

This  year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day (NWED)   will be hosted by Lough Egish woman Áine Kerr – whom you will remember as a fantastic Monaghan Women in Business keynote speaker when we were all together in the Westenra Arms Hotel.  Roll on the day for more of that!

And we are delighted to announce that the Monaghan LEO “Leading Light” for this year’s event is Charlene Casey, Founder and CEO at Charlene Casey Wellness, Castleblayney.

Charlene has done amazing work in establishing her business since 2010.  And then, unfortunately, came the shock of COVID-19 which meant that no face to face classes were possible.  Charlene has since transformed the delivery of her courses and classes with the help of the Monaghan Local Enterprise Office Trading Online Voucher and now offers a range of courses to a significantly increased catchment area through online delivery.  Check out more about Charlene’s business and courses here.

Also, listen here to Charlene’s interview with Northern Sound, where she describes how Monaghan Local Enterprise Office helped her business to survive and prosper during the ongoing COVID-19 experience.

The free event, titled “Build The Future”, will feature some of Ireland’s best known female entrepreneurs including the likes of Aimee Connolly of Sculpted by Aimee, Rachel Doyle of The Arboretum and Sharon Keegan of Peachy Lean, who was recently supported on Dragon’s Den UK.

The day’s programme will cover a whole host of areas on how to build the future of a business covering topics like, how to get started, internationalization, finding new markets, trading effectively online, sustainability and innovation. This will be coupled with breakout rooms for networking and a host of one-to-one advice clinics for any business issues.

Other participants on the day include Gerry Duffy who will be conducting an energizing session, Jenny Melia and Sheelagh Daly from Enterprise Ireland on Internationalisation and New Markets, Entrepreneurs Academy’s Noel Davidson on creating connections, designer Aoife McNamara on starting a business and a host of others covering all sorts of topics from finance to trading online.

You can download the full programme here.
